My Role: Visual Creative Designer — Launch Creative & Visual Direction
Agency: Strategy Labs
The Laundry Room is a US-based lifestyle and apparel brand with a bold, personality-driven aesthetic. As part of the Strategy Labs performance marketing team, I designed the launch ad creative and established the initial visual direction for the brand's paid social campaigns — working alongside copywriters, media buyers, and account managers. I continue to contribute to the account as part of the agency team.
Creative Approach
Launching a new brand on paid social requires more than just making ads — it means understanding what a brand already is, and translating that into something that performs in a feed.
Before designing anything, I researched The Laundry Room's existing social media presence and website, identifying the visual elements that defined their identity — including their use of hand-drawn doodles, handwritten typography, and a distinctly casual, personality-forward aesthetic. From there I built the first paid social visuals by staying true to those brand elements while elevating the execution for a paid media environment: tighter compositions, clearer hierarchy, and stronger calls to action.
The result was launch creative that felt authentically like the brand — something their audience would recognize — while being optimized to stop a scroll. The client's consistent approval with minimal revisions was a direct signal that the visual direction was right.
Where relevant, AI-assisted image expansion was used to adapt photography across required ad formats and placements, maintaining visual quality and consistency across different aspect ratios.
